Since 1607 the family members have been devoted to the viniculture. We can look back on a long tradition on viniculture and are very proud of it. Our priority has always been to achieve highest quality and still to today we meet our commitment by environmentally sound and quality-conscious cultivation of our vines. Quality wines are the result of major experience and modern techniques in the vineyard and in the wine cellar as well as technical skills. This is what the brothers Karl and Werner Schauf stand for. As the master vine maker they are responsible for the works in the vineyard, the cultivation of the vines, and the maturation of the vine in the cellar, marketing and customer care. And the next generation, our son Karl, has already settled in! He provides the newest technical expertise.

On our estate there is a guest house with two homely, modern-furnished holiday flats, in which you can relax in a comfortable atmosphere.
We offer culinary wine tastings and guided wine cellar tours as well as a rustic winemakers vesper in our Calmont Hut situated in the steepest vineyard in Europe.
We also offer A guide you through the new alpine fixed rope route in the Calmont, finishing the tour off with a wine tasting.

Soil: grey schist and blue schist with greywacke interspersed

Vines: Riesling (76%), Mueller-Thurgau (7%), Kerner (6%), Grauburgunder (5%)

Production: average of 85hl/ha

Specialities: Riesling-Wines from Ellerer Calmont, Europe's steepest vineyard ( slope of ca. 75%)
